This casting was probably designed for sale by a lamp company, and the Museum recently had a visitor who had the same clock and the case top is made to receive a kerosene lamp font (its really too large for a candle). Note the stem set knob is absent and the bronze finish is worn over much of the case. The paper dial is still legible but has been damp and is slightly warped. The cast case depicts a heron on 3 sides. Height 7.5 inches
