C.1890, French Figural Clock, Le Repos, or "The Repose", showing a farmer in overalls resting with his bare foot an a scythe after a hard day in the field. He has his straw hat off and is looking pensively into the distance. The mottled red marble case has some nicks and scrapes but is in generally good condition, and with original gilded feet and dial surround. The porcelain dial has some extra scrolling trim; there is a very small chip by the time side winding hole (not very noticeable). The statue bears a plaque with the title of the piece, and then: "Par P. Bobbias" The hands are original. The bell strike movement is signed G. Magnin and Medaille d'Argent, and with original pendulum. Height 21.5 inches
