This is an interesting presentation item, given to a couple on their 25th wedding anniversary. We repeat the poem and inscription here: "Life is a river and man is a boat, and over its surface is destined to float. And joy is a cargo that's easily stored, and he is a fool that takes sorrow on board. From Sam Smithson to his dear cousins, Mr. and Mrs Gustav Aichter, on their Silver Wedding, July 5th, 1883. May progressive years bring increased happiness". The well made round movement, numbered 5036, with a jeweled lever platform in working order. The dial with the name of the retailer: J. Fattorini, Paris. Height 7 inches
