The refinished mahogany case is in very nice condition with some veneer loss on the base, the section above the bottom door and just below the carved crest. The two painted tablets are new but done on old glass. The center section is usually found with a mirror. This rather rare model has a rack striking brass movement stamped "No. 5186". The dial has been repainted on the original dial blank. The nicely turned feet appear to be new. The columns are veneered with highly figured mahogany. Note the movement is clean and running, however at some previous date had some solder splashed on it from nearby work (no evidence of solder repair to movement); this is only a cosmetic problem. Height 38 inches
