(so engraved on dial and on an ivory insert in the case). The fusee chain is good, the helical hairspring intact and the movement is beautifully finished and damaskeened. Although the movement appears clean, the oil is dry and the escapement wants to hang up; we tried some light watch oil to loosen things, and the detent is definitely in need of attention/adjustment. The silvered brass dial is in nice condition and all hands are original. The brass bound mahogany case is complete and refinished. The gimbal is complete and working and the original winding key and case keys are present. A well made chronometer with lots of potential. Height 6 inches
