Circa 1810 7 1/2 inches original signed painted dial, 8-day, finely made brass movement with bell strike, early Federal period shelf clock, provincial mahogany case with pine secondary wood in an old finish, swan's neck pediment, kidney shaped door over dial has folk art reverse painted tablet, old but not original to clock, lower door opens to view pendulum, retains original brass escutcheon, good original condition, feet restored has that wonderful aroma that collectors love to find when opening the clocks door, quite rare to find these very early striking shelf clocks. Height 40 inches
