The black marble case is very nice with a tiny chip on the right corner and on the left side base. The porcelain dial is perfect and the hands bezel and door glasses are original. The case has engraved in the top (in German) "Vivat Den 20 Juni 1872". The case also has a floral incised pattern on the front surfaces, with most of the gilt highlights intact. The serial number on the pendulum matches the movement (5739). Height 8 inches
