The case is in nice condition with some veneer repairs on the flat edges of the case front. The case was refinished long ago and has decent patina (a little open grain showing). The original dial is in very good condition with some minor paint loss. The hands are original. The case has the rare "upside down" movement. This movement is not really upside down but is designed with the center arbor below the winding arbors. The period tablet depicts J.C. Brown's residence which still stands across the street from the American Clock and Watch Museum in Bristol, CT. Height 26.25 inches
