C.1845, Birge, Mallory & Co., Bristol, Mini Triple deck with Joseph Ives striking strap brass movement, unusual in that it is only a 30 hour. (Note similarity to the larger 8-day strap movements) Has an original center glass with some paint repairs that could be improved; mirror and top glass are replaced. The chimneys have been properly restored, and the splat had to be extended just a bit on each end to keep it in place. As often is the case, the gilt columns have been over-painted. The dial is original and wonderful, the label and been varnished, but is still very legible. One weight has been re-cast in lead (does work). A very hard to find model and sure to attract attention.- Height 27 inches
