The walnut case is only 34" high, 19" wide, but it takes a refrigerator cart to move it, very heavy. The case was expertly carved on all front surfaces, it is dark and the wood has an old look, but I suspect it was refinished years ago. The carving on the front left has been broken and repaired more than adequately. The case has latched doors on the upper sides by the movement, and another door on the bottom. The heavy bezel latches from behind which is good. This is a very solid, well made, heavy clock. The large brass movement is a double fusee, cable not chain, runs 8 days, strikes a bell on the hours. The large single barrel brass pendulum hangs in front of the mirror. Some silver loss on the mirror but should be of no concern. The movement hums right along, but is due a cleaning. Painted 13" iron dial with the original paint, less than 5% paint loss, and signed by the maker. Good original hands, glass has been replaced over time.
