8 bells and a large gong, will play only Westminster Chimes on 4 bells on the quarters, or will play 8 bells on the quarters, increasing with each quarter, large gong on the hours. Large 8 day, solid plate, chain fusee, movement, recently serviced and in good running order. Great mahogany wood case is 21" high, 16.5" wide. There is a small inlay of burl mahogany and mother of pearl on the top front, and sides, and a pearl key escutcheon. A normal number of edge nicks, really insignificant. Beveled glass on the front, heavy brass curtain in side the window frame on the sides. There are 4 turned wood feet, full solid back door with a working lock, the correct pendulum, old door key and winding key. The elaborate brass dial is 10.5" high, 8.5" wide; dial ring has raised numerals that are etched and black filled. Finely etched dial center. There are 3 subsidiary dial rings also raised and etched, that regulate, "Strike-Silent", "Slow-Fast", and "Chime on Eight Bells-Westminster". The rest of the dial is covered with cast spandrels. The dial ring is marked for 60 minutes on the outside.
