Rare Chauncey Jerome short drop, with fusee movement and ripple front.
Chauncey Jerome always made unusual and slightly different clocks. Many followed his lead, especially if a clock was a good seller. Runs very well with the cable driven fusee movement. The dial has been repainted on the old pan, correct original hands and pendulum bob. Original putty around the old glass. Very good label inside, plastic covered. Bright, clean, brass 8 day movement, signed,"Chauncey Jerome, New Haven, Conn. U.S.A." Fine ripple molding all around the exterior of the 22",dark rosewood case. Neither the wood or brass has been refinished or cleaned. On the left side of the base you pull a brass pin that lets the side door drop to access the pendulum. You push a brass pin to release the brass bezel. The back of the case is hinged to allow access to the movement. The quickest reference I found was, "Ehrhardt, Book 1, page 8." .
