The first four models were short pendulum. The bob could be seen swinging between the two dials. The 5th and successive models were long pendulums, extending down below the calendar dial. This is an exceptionally nice walnut case, 32" high. Finials are very nice with good tips and are marked on the base similar to the factory marks. If they aren't original they are just like original. The Fashion glass is a replacement but very well done. Surprisingly the dials are original and in very good condition with only a small place where paint is chipped. Normally they would have been repainted by this time. There are two nice labels inside the case, calendar rolls are dark. Nice large 8 day movement strikes a nickel cathedral gong on the hours. The movement and all other inside parts are clean, running, and functioning properly. The Seth Thomas damascened bob is nickel as well as the beat scale. This is a very clean and nice example of the No. 5.
