Southern Calendar Clock Co., St. Louis, Mo. "Fashion No. 6" C. 1884.
The No. 6 is solid walnut, the same as No. 3 thru No. 8, all 32" high, all with three turned finials. We feel the three finials on this case are original, with one or more of them retipped. Other than that the clock is completely original and an awfully nice example of this model. There are two labels inside, original long pendulum stick and bob, really nice original dials with a beginning of oxidizing, and new calendar rollers. This model is 8 day of course, strikes on a Cathedral Bell on the hours. The gong stand, all dial rings, all hands, and the damascened pendulum bob, are all nickel plated. The beat scale is brass. Other than the finial repairs, replaced calendar rolls, and slightly oxidized dials, this clock is as good as we have seen for this model. If I were going to keep just one of this collection of ten, it would be this clock.
