Seth used an old case style and gussied it up with some brass buttons. This oak case is polished veneer and shines like a new silver dollar. All the brass buttons, pendulum bob, and both bezels are polished and shining. If they had stopped right there all would have been well. Instead of painting the old pan someone installed a new painted metal dial on the old pan. It is fine and you can hardly tell it, but nonetheless its there. There are some extra holes around the old pan, so even it may not be original. Nice large time only movement, signed, and runs a week, although we didn't oil it. It is a great looking clock; just don't think about the two dials. Ly-Seth Thomas #513.
