Plays Westminster on 4 large gongs on the quarter hours, and strikes a larger gong the number of hours. The movement is unsigned, at least on the back plate. It is a solid plate movement, attached to the dial, and held in place that way. It has been running steadily here for some time. You will need to adjust the strike hammers to get the full benefit of the great gong sounds. Full door on the back with a brass, open mesh, covered with red cloth. 2 side glasses on each side, all beveled, in odd shapes, designed to look like church windows. Good 8" silver dial, original hands, brass sash, bowed glass over the dial. 4 nice brass finials on top, 4 brass feet. Note the little round beveled glass at the base, to observe the pendulum. Gold trim used on the base panels, string inlay around the front base. There are two full fluted columns, carved capitals, turned bases. Mahogany case is 19" tall, including the finials.
