Walnut case, no movement. We have owned this clock several years waiting for the right movement to come along. It is so big at 10 feet 6 inches, 28" wide, it can't stand upright in our clock quarters, so we have to store it in three pieces. The base, middle section, and the top 18" headpiece. When we acquired the case it had been stained with a red mahogany stain. Rather than have it stripped to bare wood the antique refinisher added some brown stain to the red to get it back closer to walnut color. You may want to strip it down and start over, your choice. With clocks coming in faster than we can move them out, we need more space. We actually had to rent storage space in a nearby town to accommodate all the collections coming our way. We decided to let someone else fit a movement into this big big case. If you cannot locate a New Haven movement you could probably fit most any Swiss pinwheel movement into the case. It has glass sides and full turned columns in the middle section and base. Ly-New Haven, #102.
