8 day movement is signed "C.H.", and "Made in France", also stamped with the "Vincenti Medal of 1855". C.H. was a Paris, France, clockmaker, Charles Hour, 1852-1900. The mercury pendulum is live, clock is running just fine, and strikes a hanging gong on the half hour and hours. The case would be plain were it not for the bow front and the ripple beading around the top and base. French sash has fine machined designs as well as a small beading around the outside. The fancy porcelain dial has a hand painted garland of flowers looped inside the Arabic numbers. Nice French brass hands. Bronze case is 10" high, a little dull. I would recommend it be polished to make it a keeper. The bowed glass and three plain glasses are all beveled and have no chips.
