Brewster & Ingrahams gallery with a signed 8 day brass spring, horizontal movement.
It is the earlier movement with smooth plates. The dial is signed, "Presented by Moses Eaton, Jr. to The Barnard School, 1849". A large and complete, overpasted Daniel Pratt label. Wood case is 16" in diameter; 11" wood dial which is very nice considering the age of the clock. A paper covers the inside of the backboard. Glass and wood dial are both convex. According to the book referenced below, the case is black walnut, C. 1845-1853. This case has been restored in the "bridal fashion" like Willards, and we are not sure this is a correct restoration. We were told it was restored to its original condition. $400-$600. Reference: "Handbook of Clocks Produced by —Brewster & Ingrahams", by Bill Ultsch and Doug Cowan. Pages 56-57 picture the case .
