short case, stenciled quarter columns and splat, C. 1823. Full label is dark but legible, some deteriation in the weight chutes. Stenciled quarter columns and splat are very good. Repairs made to the chimneys and returns, not completed, and splat very poorly attached to the chimneys. Mahogany veneer case is 28" high, which includes the goofy looking homemade feet. Your veneer skills will be tested, but fortunately it is all flat work The top glass is old, bottom missing. Ivory escutcheon and door lock, untested. Large wood dial has seen better days, showing a lot of peeling. Old hands, weights, and pendulum. The old wood movement is part of the backboard, it is dirty, complete, no broken teeth, has ivory bushings, and will function as is, but I recommend service before extended use. There are many examples of this movement, label, and case style, in the same book referenced at #362.
