A Franklin Mint clock produced in limited quantities. Commissioned by The Royal Geographical Society, the World Clock is designed to display the correct time-anywhere on earth-at a single glance. Originally issued in 1978 at a price of $950. The movement is Swiss, 15 jewel, and provides a 24 hour cycle. Made of mahogany, brass, and 24 karat gold was used to make the map of the world on the black metal globe. The clock is 10.75" high. The time is shown by a revolving time band underneath the globe. Winds and sets with one knob, in back. We checked the movement, oiled, and it is running properly.
