Atkins Clock Company, Bristol, Conn., 8 day shelf clock, "London" model, C. 1870. 16.5" polished rosewood case has always been a favorite of collectors. One of those enthusiastic collectors added a beautiful ripple trim around the top edge. You have to look close to tell because it has been on there a coons age. The glasses with designs, the hands, the wood panel in the lower door, the full label inside, all are original and extra nice. The movement is 8 day, strikes a coil gong on the hours, has been serviced and is running. The zinc dial pan now has paper glued to the pan, then it was hand painted by an aspiring artist. This is a beautiful clock that deserves a professional $35 paint job.
