C.1890, English, 3-Fusee, Double Chime, 8-Bell bracket clock, mahogany, with fine inlay and fretted sides, large (see also lot 431). Condition: this clock is from a home in Boston, where it has been on display for the past 30 years. The movement is complete and sound, however is dusty and dry. Although it ticks and you can coax the chimes out of it, we would recommend service before using the clock. The silvered brass dial has a finely engraved mask, with a silvered chapter ring, engraved with Roman numerals. Chimes Westminster on gongs and Whittington on 8-bells, and strikes the hours on a very large cathedral gong. Very nice quality and good condition. Height 24 inches
