C.1895, German, Winterhalder and Hofmeier, 3-chain fusee, 9-gong quarter chime bracket clock, inlaid walnut case with arch dial and subsidiary dials for F/S, Chime/Silent, and tune selection (Whttington 8 gong, or Westminster 4 gong), striking the hours on a 9th deep toned cathedral gong. Condition: this is a heavy and impressive clock, side frets intact; inlay intact and original finish on the case; note reeded quarter columns and carved pineapple finials. Signed at bottom of movement: W and H, Schl. Movement is dirty and will need cleaning even though you can get it to eek out the chimes. Has 4 added pads for feet, some discoloration on dial. Height 19.5 inches
