C.1855, Austrian, J. Perrovits in Wien, unusual pull wind Serpentine wall clock.
Condition: This clock suffered some case damage enroute to New Hampshire; the case stabilizers got sheared off the case (and are now absent, and return molding damaged),and one tiny finial on the left side of the door got lost, and various scrapes to the finish on the door. Two dowels for the finials are broken (setting in foto). Will need suspension spring. Otherwise, this is a very uncommon clock, with two winding barrels that work like this: while the main barrel is unwinding, an extra gear on the front of the barrel is turning a sister barrel, thus winding up a dangling cord on the right side of the case. When the week is up, you simply pull the external cord and the process is reversed. Some modest case restoration will improve this clock. Height 55 inches
