C.1890, American Oak Tall Case. Asian motif, now with a brass dial, moon phase / calendar movement, signed G. W. Russell, Philadelphia, from the same period.

Condition: overall condition is generally good, minor nicks and scrapes to the case do not detract from original finish. Beveled glass in the doors is fine. The movement needs service and the dial is in need of restoration. The movement is setting about a half inch low in the case and needs some thicker spacers to bring it up to height. Interesting spoked pulleys are old, as are the brass sheathed weights. The steel cable on the movement is fraying and wants to be replaced soon. Although the movement is not original to the case, it can be installed properly and is the correct size for the dial mask. Quality movement with maintaining power. Height 97 inches
