Welch Spring & Co., ca.1870's -1880's.

Large shelf clock, 45 inches tall, rosewood and walnut. Tip of center finial repaired. Ivory escutcheon in place but locks missing on both doors, small holes drilled for knobs at one time. Repair at top hinge on lower door, couple of corners reglued but overall original including finish. Full carved columns on sides. 10 inch dial pan original with some flaking, old mounting board for dial was painted black, large Birge brass strap movement, 2 weights, strikes the hour on a cast bell, old hands and weights. "Mr. Fixit" put a glob of solder under the center arbor, on the front plate but it can be removed. This clock came as a double dial shelf or wall model, also time and strike model. If you like unusual Welch clocks, with a little TLC you can make this a keeper. Movement runs. Ly-Welch clocks, Fig. #106, 107 and 410A.
