If not for the door this would be a plain walnut case in the box style adopted just after the first war. Inside the case is a typical Vienna 8 day, 2 weight movement that is unsigned, post mount, strikes one long rod which seems to be the favorite of most clock people instead of the coil gong. Exceptionally nice 2 piece porcelain dial and beat scale, brass rings, pendulum and the 2 brass weights. The weights are not as nice as the rest of the clock but they look good on the wall so that is what counts. Good wall spacers and pulleys that are the etched design type. The case is 34.5 inches high, brass door lock and pull ring. Heavy beveled, leaded glass in the lower section, good top glass and 2 side glasses. The beveled glass with my flash causes the designs inside the case. All in all a good looking clock. A label in the case says in part, "Juhann Epstein, Jeweler, Wein".
