Three train movement, 2 hammers striking 2 coil gongs. There has been a lot of restoration, paint primarily; possibly a new top ornament and a new wood back cover. The alabaster columns are very good, half columns on the outsides. New gold paint on capitals and bases and upper portions of the case. Front had brass looking metal ornaments that were cleaned, now look copper. Porcelain dial ring and tiny porcelain calendar dial around the hand arbor, are not bad, have a couple of tiny chips and some hairlines. The movement has had additions and subtractions. I would guess the calendar mechanism is no longer in place. I don't have a key to fit the middle winding arbor so I can't be sure of its purpose. Bronze ring between the porcelain dials, bronze ring outside the time dial. Bowed glass in a very special sash. Pendulum for the silk thread movement looks to be original, but surely too short. We don't know if it is 2 day or 8 day movement, but most Austrian clocks we have had were 2 day. Mirror is old, same with the feet. An early clock in need of further improvements.
