Empire style case is ca 1844-1847. Brass weight movements prior to 1844 were large with the extended side arm. About this time companies started using a much smaller brass movement without side arms, as in this case. Movement is signed, 2 period iron weights, old pendulum and key, two old glasses, bottom glass a poor replacement, old wood dial with a very poor paper dial glued to it, 2 unmatched hands, one door latch correct, one not. The gold full and half columns have not been touched, dirty but most of gold should clean. The gold eagle and splat have been played with. I can't decide if any of the splat is replaced .The turned ball feet and back feet are good. Most of the old label is good, some loss at the bottom and in the weight chutes. 36 inch mahogany veneer is very good has only a couple of small tics. Overall not a bad old clock. It needs some restoration, but is nothing the average collector can't take care of.
