The unusual thing about this clock is the Mythical Flying Serpents that have attached themselves to each end of the case. The black is enameled iron, the ornaments are now silver. Originally were Japanese or Verde Bronze, now cleaned of all finish like many others in this collection. The case is 11.25 inches high, 17.75 inches wide, with large paw feet and a metal frieze all around the case just above the feet. New gold in the etchings. Two piece porcelain dial and beveled glass in the sash, all perfect. 8 day, half hour gong strike, running. This is another nice refinished case ready to regild the metal or use like it is. Ly-Ansonia #1117.
