Smith and Goodrich 30 hour steeple, double fusee movement that is mounted on steel plates which are attached to the lower end of the brass movement plates.

There are brass caps over the front of the fusee spool. The brass movement is not signed, but a full label says, "Manufactured and Sold by Smith & Goodrich, Bristol, Conn". Original painted zinc dial is signed by, "G W Laughlin, Minerva, O.", which I would think is the selling dealer's name. The original glass is almost perfect, just some slight flaking, and a small hole was scraped at the bottom, in the days before TV, so the rug rats could watch the pendulum swing. This mahogany veneer case is near perfect, has nice finial points, maybe one expert veneer patch, no chips, all in all a great case. A note on the door says, "new spring and hands Jan.26, 1893". All original, running.
