Thirty hour time, strike, and alarm movement is complete, running, and striking on a large iron bell on top of the movement. The movement, dial, chains, hands, weights, bell, and most of the case appear to be original. The beautiful walnut case is 55 inches high. It was refinished and modified, or perhaps repaired, on the tail section. Note there is no pendulum hole (brass covered opening) in the sliding base and the sliding base cover does not go all the way to the bottom. As it has been completely refinished it is difficult to say for sure if the sliding partition is old or new. There is no evidence it has been changed or altered but I have never seen a Staartklok with-out the pendulum cover, which is not to say there weren't any. This is a very good looking clock and if looks could set the price it would be 3000 dollars to 5000 dollars. Collectors will discount the value because of the incorrect pendulum, the base, the original but repainted dial, and the new top ornaments. The ornaments are copies of originals but on a smaller scale. You can buy original top ornaments occsionally for 4000 dollars and up if you are interested. You should be able to hang this clock and run it just like it is.
