I believe R.C. stands for "rosewood case". This old 24 inch case is made of rosewood veneer and has aged very nicely. Excluding a few places on the rolled bezel where the veneer has popped off, the case is extraordinarily nice. There has been no cleaning or polishing, brass is dull, glasses are both original, full label inside, not a bad old dial either. There are a few paint chips but sure-ly something you could live with. The movement is 8 day, has calendar which is evident, and strikes hours on a coil gong. Running but out of beat slightly. Ly-New Haven #617.
