Forestville Manufacturing Co. Ripple Beehive, ca 1850.
8 day signed movement, strikes a coil gong on the hours, and is running. There is about 75% of the old label inside; the original zinc dial still has very adequate paint and was signed originally, now very faint. I can't be sure of the name. I keep trying to read J.C.Brown. It would appear some of the ripple came from another clock. Definitely the base ripple looks different than all the rest and the ripple on the two doors are not the same style.Top glass is old with old putty, bottom glass a replacement. 18.5 inch mahogany veneer case has bubbled and cracked near the top on each side. Anyone but a clock collector would probably be happy with this clock. It has a great look, it definitely is over 150 years old, and it runs. You collectors may want it to restore or use for parts.
