Movement is housed in an open iron box, coil gong behind. 2 large weights run the 8 day time and striking mechanism. Strikes hours, repeats the hours 2 minutes after the hour, and strikes again on the half hours. Because of this striking feature it is sometimes called a Prayer Clock. All housed in a tin box with both side doors pre-sent. This piece has traveled hither and yon, almost impossible to pack so the brass surround has been bent and straightened, there are some dings in the dial ring, and the brass pendulum has a few dings. As with all these clocks the brass is thin and fairly easy to bend back in shape. The bowed porcelain dial has been damaged and repaired at 4 o'clock, could be made to look a lot better. Pendulum is very unusual with the brass design over the porcelain middle. Note the lyre pendulum design. Rarely do we get one with old weights, these are modern reproductions. Runs and strikes properly. Height is around 57 inch. Comes with a proper winding crank.
