Ansosnia Clock Co. hanging clock, "Queen Elizabeth", ca 1901.
Poplar clock with collectors. It is a good size at 37 inches high, will fit in most any space, and has good lines with just enough decorations to make it appealing. Many turnings like the full columns, finials, and rail at the bottom. The movement is 8 day, half hour gong strike, running, a little out of beat, and it has been in storage a long time, which might mean cleaning and oiling may be necessary. The paper dial is original, same with the walnut case. There has been nothing done to the original finish, dark but looks very good. Now the negatives; on the top two small 2-3 inch flat ornaments, are missing. The tail on the bottom is missing. If you weren't familiar with this clock you would never know. The tail is an attachment to the back of the case, whereas the tail you see in our picture is a front piece. Fix those hurts and you should increase the value of the clock to $800 plus. Ly-Ansonia #620.
