This is a movement I haven't seen before. It is a balance wheel, inside the plates, and the exposed wheel in front of the dial rotates as the balance wheel does. The rest of the apparatus that looks like an open escapement at first glance is actually the slow-fast regulator. There is a very old, but replaced, paper dial on an old pan. On the metal inner dial there is painted, "High Class 8 days". I cannot see if the movement is signed without removing that inner dial, no thanks. Everything is dirty, but the darn thing just keeps on running and striking. The dial is 12 inch, case is 16 inch. A date painted on the back, "1909", and some letters. It may have been a school clock.
