This rare steeple on steeple is almost perfect except where noted. 25 inch mahogany veneer case is about as nice as you will find. All the finials are good but the needle point tips just seem to go away over time. Both glasses are excellent replacements that would pass for original in most quarters. The dial was professionally repainted and looks great but on a clock this old I would like to see an older looking dial. We had the movement serviced and repairs done where needed. It is 8 day, strikes a coil gong each hour, and is running strong. The movement mounts to a seatboard. Nothing fancy here like fusees, wagon springs, etc., just a great looking early clock, ca about 1850. The door latches are alike, original and working.
