C.1870 French, marble and bronze figural mantel clock, 8-day time/strike.

Condition: Black marble case is in very good condition, however rectangular base is now made of wood, a replacement for a marble base that was damaged. Applied ornaments and figure have lost most of their gilding, with light brown patina. Porcelain dial marked "Patent, J.J. Cox, New Yorck" (yes with a c), has hairline cracks. Hands are original. Some surface rust to movement, which has an unusual F/S fine adjuster on the suspension block. Worth making a new marble base. Height 17 inches
