Condition: This clock appears to have been made at the end of the 19th century, simulating an earlier period. The country case is in good condition with some of the gold striping having been redone; rear door replaced and new lock applied; other moldings restored. Porcelain dial has hairline cracks, chipping around the winding holes and near one o'clock. There is evidence there was some sort of brass bezel that surrounded the dial (some vacant holes). The calendar and minute hand appear to be replacements. Large brass movement (7+" across) with silk thread suspension striking quarter hours on one bell and the hours on another opposite; movement with restoration. Movement with lantern pinions. Height 24.5 inches
