Condition: This unusual timepiece appears to be a marriage of a movement with a little earlier case/ and knife suspension rod of about 1825. The movement started out life with solid round plates that were later skeletonized (guide and file marks apparent). The wrought iron rod holding the movement appears to have been moved from its original threaded position, and is now soldered. Old porcelain dial is perfect and the hands are original. Simple wood case with an ebonized spire is in good condition with some worm damage. The column bases are ivory. Clearances are critical as you try to set it up for running. Height 27 inches
