C.1880, French, Pinwheel timepiece, in a walnut case for use on mantel or wall. Condition: Generally in good condition. The well made movement rests in an iron frame like a Morbier, with brass plates secured from top and bottom of the frame. The movement is laid out nearly like a weight pinwheel, but in this case there is a going barrel at the bottom instead of a barrel for cord. The dial was repainted some time ago and with discoloration /tan in color. Runs briskly and with typical solid sound of a pin escapement. Height 22 inches
