C.1860, B. B. Lewis for L.F. and W.W. Carter, 8-day time/strike weight calendar clock.
Condition: This clock is a project that is in need of some TLC. The rosewood veneered case is in very good condition with some loss on the base and on each side of the base where a small piece has been cut out. The incomplete backboard has section from a Carter calendar clock that is not original, but could be made to fit by adding a new piece to each side. Weight guides that are not original have been added to the case. They were probably attached to the original backboard. The original painted dials are in good condition with some paint loss on the upper dial. The hands are original. The bottom door glass IS original, but has been touched up. Heavy strap brass Welch movement is proper. The estimate reflects the condition. If the clock had been right it might have achieved $1,200. Height 33.25 inches
