C.1830, George Mitchell, Bristol, CT, 30-hour wooden works clock case, short.

Condition: A very nice clean mahogany veneered case with a small piece of veneer missing on the base. The stenciling on the columns/splat may have been re-done, however it has plenty of age, and most collectors would be happy with it. The tablet is original, but has had some restoration. The case was later fitted with a brass movement, as there is a spacer block in that location. There is also a hole in the base, now covered by a piece of cardboard to allow for the swing of the brass movement. The pulleys are now missing, but that is an easy repair. The case must have had pineapple finials, as there are holes in the chimneys. If you have a short pendulum movement, dial and bell, this case could be nicely restored. Height 28.75 inches
