C.1960, French, Swinging movement lyre form timepiece, 8-day (home made). Condition: This is a copy of a 19th century lyre form case in mahogany and mahogany veneer. The person who made this did a fair job, but the case has developed lifting of the veneer and some cracks. He used old brass furniture trim to accent the mahogany. The movement is mounted in a brass cylinder and with a bezel from another clock for the rear end, and with knife edge suspension. The porcelain dial has been repaired and has hairline cracks. A skilled woodworker could improve this case or use it for parts. Height 18 inches
