Mid 20th Century, Dent, London, 8-day fusee timepiece, clock movement and dial swinging as pendulum. Condition: Brass and gilt column case in the French style is in very good condition with some loss of the gilding. The heavy fusee movement is in very good condition, but does have some light surface rust on the steelwork from storage in a damp location. Steel screws on the case have some surface rust also, some brass oxidation as well. The silvered brass dial is tarnished and worn a little. The hands are original. Takes a minute to adjust for beat and clearance, but once set up, it runs robustly. English workmanship throughout. A novelty reissue by Dent, would have had a glass cover, now absent.
