C.1800, Austrian, Syrea Hambro (signed on rear plate of movement), David and Goliath moving eye clock, grand sonnerie with calendar, gilt wood case. Condition: the case has been re-gilded. The 3 train, 2-gong, silk thread movement is made to run 56 hours, typical for the day. Goliath's eyes are moved by an extension upward from the verge arbor. The dial with subsidiary indications for seconds, date and day of the week. Note bezel is currently attached to the case by modern Phillips screws, however, the originals [now too small] are in a bag included. Note the bezel of the movement is also signed with well engraved signature of Syrea Hambro. Rear dust cover is replaced. Height 20 inches
