C.1825, Austrian, Grand Sonnerie Portico Clock with animation on dial, 2-day duration, silk thread suspension. Condition: Generally good original condition, minor restorations. Alabaster columns are intact and original finish on mahogany veneer case. There are some splits in the veneer; top final an old replacement; top curtain over stage repainted. Well made 3-train movement is dirty; one strike hammer is missing; you can copy the one that is there. Best part is the "Lumber Yard" animation with a man and woman at either end of a 2-man saw (at left of dial) and to the right a man with an axe or splitter hitting the board. Height 25 inches
