C.1900, Japy Freres and Cie, "Knight" figural mantel clock, 8-day time/strike.
Condition: Brass drum with a small dent, with pikes, battle axes and a suit of armor to harken back to the time of the knights of the round table sitting on an ebonized wooden base. Engraved brass dial with porcelain numbers is perfect and hands are original. The figure and ornaments are askew to the left from a repair to one side that has left it a little shorter than the other and will need to be corrected. There are three rods behind the suit of armor that have been cut off that originally could have been banner poles. The brass hands are original, but do not show well in the foto as they are the same shade as the dial. The movement is signed with Japy award medallion. Would be a good item for the Excalibur hotel in Vegas. Height 15.5 inches
